How to make spicy rice:
Spicy rice is usually made with shish kebab. Heat oil add chopped onion and saute. Then add green chilli paste and cumin seed powder, add water and bring to boil. Now cook rice When rice is half done and some water also remains just cover the lid and lower the flame. Wait for 15 minutes. Water and rice ratio 1&1/2:1 respectively.
Ingredients :
1/2 kg rice (4 cups)(soaked for half hour)
1/2 onion chopped
Green chilies 14-15 chopped
Cumin (zeera) powder 2tbsp
Salt as per taste
Water (6 cups)
Oil 1/3 cup
Method:
- Heat oil in a skillet and add onion.
- Sauté the onion for 2-3 minutes.
- I add some shish tauq chicken and vegetables at this stage but it's optional.
- Then add chopped green chilies and salt.
- Now add water bring to boil and add cumin powder, salt, and rice.
- When water remains little then cover the rice and slow the flame to lower. Now leave for 15-20 minutes.
- After 15 minutes open the lid and check the rice is done. Serve hot.
- Now enjoy the spicy rice with shish taouk. You can make them as a rice dish alone.
